Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Watertown Public Library will be holding their annual used book sale from September 15th (Wed.) until September 18th (Sat.)

September 15 (Wed.) 5:00pm to 7:00pm
**Wednesday's pre-sale is *only* open to members of Friends of the Watertown Public Library.**

The rest of the days are open to the public...
September 16 (Thurs.) 9:00am to 7:30pm
September 17 (Fri.) 9:00am to 5:30pm
September 18 (Sat.) 9:00am to 11:00am

Saturday is the "Bag Sale". People can fill a grocery bag or a Friend's cloth bag with books for $3.00!

The cost of books at the sale are 50 cents for a paperback and $1 for a hard-covered book.
Watertown's Steve Sharp featured in 'Living Blues'

Steve Sharp of the Watertown Daily Times has written two pieces for 40th Anniversary issue of 'Living Blues'. One on guitarist Jimmy Dawkins and the second on harpist Mojo Buford.

The library hopes to acquire a copy for members to check out. If you're interested in owning a copy for yourself, the local bookstores would be more than happy to place a special order.
Packers' Monday Night Game at the Library

Don’t have ESPN to catch Monday Night Football? Come to the library!

On Monday, September 27th, the Green Bay Packers play their only Monday night game of the season against the Chicago Bears.

The game, which starts at 7:30pm, will be shown in Meeting Room 2.

Only the Meeting Room portion of the library will remain open during the game (this also includes the lower level rest rooms). The outside doors will lock at 8pm, so once you leave there’s no coming back.

All are welcome, but seating will be limited.

Feel free to bring your own snacks!
Friends Author Dinner to feature Michael Perry

The Friends of the Library announced on Monday that Michael Perry will be the speaker for their annual author dinner on Thursday, October 7, 2010.

Ticket prices are $18 for Friends of the Watertown Public Library. Non-member prices are $20.

This event will be held at the Windwood Country Club (W5710 County Hwy CW, Watertown, WI 53098).

The tentative itinerary for the evening is...
6:00pm - drinks
6:30pm - dinner
7:30pm - Michael Perry will speak
**NOTE: This itinerary is subject to change.**

Some of Michael Perry's most popular works include 'Population 485,' 'Truck: A Love Story,' and 'Coop: A Year of Poultry, Pigs, and Parenting.'

Michael Perry is not only an author, but also a musician. His band is called Michael Perry and the Long Beds and their latest release is 'Tiny Pilot.'

NOW AVAILABLE: Consumer Reports Online
The Consumer Reports Online edition is now available to Watertown Public Library cardholders!
OverDrive for Mobile Devices
The OverDrive website now works on mobile devices. When a mobile device accesses the site it will be detected automatically and presented with a mobile version of the site.

Using any mobile device with Internet access, users can browse,
place holds, and checkout any title. In addition, users may e-mail a
friend the title detail page.

People who use Android, Blackberry, or iPhone devices - and who have
downloaded the OverDrive Media Console for that device - may download and listen to MP3 audiobooks on that device. Likewise, users with a Windows Mobile device - and who have downloaded the OverDrive Media Console for that device - may download and listen to both MP3 and WMA audiobooks.
BookMyne for iPhone users
iPhone users can now search the S.H.A.R.E. Catalog for books, music, movies, and more by downloading BookMyne (a FREE app made available through the iTunes Store).
Pay Fines Online
We now have the ability accept credit card to pay fines or other fees in
the catalog. Here are the steps to do so:

1) Enter the SHARE Library Catalog (use link below or elsewhere on our website)
2) Log into the catalog in the upper right hand corner
3) Click 'My Account'
4) Click 'Review My Account'
5) Go to the 'Bills' tab
6) Click 'Pay bills online with credit card'
7) Enter your first name, last name, credit card number, and
amount (amount defaults to total amount of bills owed)
8) Click 'Pay bills online with credit card'
