The Watertown Public Library welcomes you to our new and improved website. We would like to thank the Friends of the Watertown Public Library and KD Interactive for helping us to create a new website that supports the library in its mission of providing materials that inform, educate, and entertain and also promote reading, lifelong learning, and good citizenship.
We are busy adding and updating content but we hope to have those finished soon.We also hope you will find the site easy to navigate and full of useful information. Click on the links to view our Adult, Events, Kid or Teen pages. As always, you can access the library catalog by clicking on the Share Online Catalog link to search for material and reserve or renew items from home.
The Watertown Public Library’s Adult Winter Reading Program, “You Be the Librarian”, will run from Monday, January 25th to Saturday, March 20th.
This program requires participants to test their knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system. For each book a participant reads, they are given three questions asking where in the library certain types of nonfiction books are located using Dewey's system. There are a total of 30 questions. Therefore, one needs to read ten books within eight weeks in order to successfully complete the challenge.
Gift certificates will be given to three participants whose names are drawn after having successfully answered all 30 questions.
Anyone interested in taking the challenge is encouraged to come to the Circulation Desk at the library. All are welcome to participate!
