Announcing the Watertown Public Library’s Summer Reading Program
Kids

The children's summer reading program runs from June 6 until July 30. June 6-11 will be registration only: sign up for the program, receive your reading log and events calendar, and keep track of the minutes or pages you read. Reporting and recording begins on June 13.

Children age 3 to entering 1st grade: Read (or listen to) 300 pages per step. For every 300 pages read, return to the library for a prize, and then begin the next step. Those who complete the entire program will have read 900 pages!

Children entering grades 2 through 5: Read (or listen to) 6 hours per step. Color in or cross off an image on your reading log for every 15 minutes of reading. Return to the library after every 6 hours of reading; those who complete the entire program will have read 18 hours!

The program ends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. There are no exceptions: if you will be away on July 30, please mail your record sheets to us, postmarked ON or BEFORE July 30 in order to receive credit.

Check the Watertown Public Library kids' web page and/or the calendar (both linked below) for more information on specific events and activities.

Select one of four BINGO cards according to your interests. Choose books, magazines, movies, books on CD, and teen programs to fill the squares on your BINGO card.

Each time you complete a square on your BINGO card, fill out the corresponding raffle ticket at the library to become eligible for weekly prize drawings.

When you complete a BINGO card, return it to the library and place it in the Grand Prize box. You may complete as many BINGO cards and enter as often as you like to win a NOOK e-reader!

All completed BINGO cards must be returned to the library by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. Prize drawings will occur the following week. We will notify you if you are a winner.

We also have a variety of games and activities in the YA area during June and July. Fill in the answer sheets and enter them in drawings for small prizes.

Check the Watertown Public Library teens web page and/or calendar below to see all the activities we've planned this summer.
